    What is Dance/

    Movement Therapy?

Dance/movement therapy, like art therapy or music therapy, is just another type of regular therapy! The difference is that we will primarily use movement rather than talking as a way to engage in therapy. The American Dance Therapy Association defines it as "the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual." You do NOT need any prior movement or dance experience to benefit from dance/movement therapy and ANY type of body can enroll.
